Daniel is a passionate cannabis advocate, consumer, and medical patient with firsthand experience navigating cannabis consumption and drug laws in Australia. His lived and living experience, combined with a deep respect for cannabis and its cultural, medicinal, and personal significance, has driven his commitment to cannabis law reform, drug policy and improved harm reduction services.

Over the past four years, Daniel has worked as a Youth Peer Advocate in Victoria’s alcohol and other drugs sector, alongside contributing to broader harm reduction work across community, festival, and advocacy spaces both nationally and internationally. During this time, he has supported peer-led education, contributed to governance and policy discussions, engaged in media advocacy, and worked to elevate lived experience and youth voices within drug policy and service design.

His advocacy has taken him from community settings to Parliament, the media, and the global stage. In 2024, Daniel represented Australian youth at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Commission on Narcotic Drugs 67, where he spoke about the importance of centring lived experience and young people in cannabis law reform and drug policy decision-making.

Through Let’s Budvocate, Daniel has created a growing platform and community hub dedicated to honest education, harm reduction, and conscious cannabis use. The project is designed to evolve alongside the cannabis community whilst supporting people to live fulfilling lives, advocate for change, and learn from one another without stigma or judgement.

Let’s Budvocate was created in response to Daniel’s own journey with cannabis. After experiencing periods of unhealthy and uninformed consumption at a young age, he recognised the lack of accessible, non-judgmental information and peer-led guidance available when he was younger. This platform exists to be the resource he wishes he had . One that empowers people to make informed choices, reduce harm, and build healthier relationships with cannabis over time.
